A few years back I started to notice that it was becoming more difficult to perform certain tasks.
It may sound a bit silly but the main one was I struggled to put my socks on standing upright. At first I put it down to getting old.
Then I was on a tiled roof, carrying stuff up to fix an antenna, and had trouble getting my right leg over the ridge capping.
I also was losing balance when working on colorbond roofs.
I also started noticing when talking, I was stuttering and pausing while trying to say something.
I started to get a bit concerned so I went to see my local Doctor. At first he suspected Vertigo, after several tests he ruled that out.
He suggested I go and see a Neurologist.
After performing a some tests and a few MRI's it was established that I had a condition known as 'CEREBRAL RADIONECROSIS'.
As he explained it to me 'the outside edges of the void left from the tumour excision was dying because of the RADIATION used to get rid of the remaining tumour back in 1995. And it will continue to die but could not say over what period. But added there was no cure.
My condition was slowly getting worse, losing my balance, stumbling, falling over also my speech was slowly deteriorating.
Several visits later the neurologist asked me was one of my symptoms like that my feet were getting stuck to the floor. He then told me that the cerebral radionecrosis was causing another condition called 'SPASTICITY'
Once again, another thing I was not informed prior to getting the radiation treatment.
Curious of what 'spasticity' was I googled it. (see below)
