This website demonstrates my personal experience with the negative effect of
'RADIATION THERAPY'
Comments : craigelse@bigpond.com
On the 7th of January 1995, I was working as a Used Car Saleperson at a Car Yard in Fawkner. I was trying to start a car & the next thing I knew I was having a seizure. I remember waking up on a couch in one of the offices, surrounded by other salespeople & ambulance officers. I was taken to PANCH (the local hospital) where I was to under go a Cat Scan. This revealed a tumour on my brain. A few weeks later I was admitted to St Vincents Hospital to have most of the tumour removed. Due to it's location on the brain, it was too risky to remove it all. A biopsy was performed & it was discovered to be malignant.
The next step was to get rid of the remaining tumour. Radiation Therapy was the plan. For the next 6 weeks I had the treatment every weekday, I was given the maximum amount as I was young & fit. Followed by MRI scans at regular intervals to ensure the tumour hadn't returned. As far as everyone was concerned, it was all over...........What nobody had explained to me at the time of the Radiation Therapy was the after effects.
